Wounded Hearts
Everyone's a wounded heart, whether or not they say it
We just try to make it through, try not to display it
Even the ones you never thought could ever be brought down
We've all had our share of trials, shivering on the ground
I feel so numb, so helpless, now that I've seen that truth
I'd been naive and ignorant, just enjoying youth
When all around me, things I didn't know were taking place
And now I want to scream, or just let the tears roll down my face
So many things I would have said, so much I would have done
To have kept it all from happening, that you wouldn't be the one
To bear that much pain and sorrow, I wish it were me instead
